Holding on to dear life

DSC_8280

Old and withered yet standing tall and strong

While walking down North Maple Ave to take some pictures, I noticed this tree (second photo) holding on to a few leaves and that set me thinking ….

Holding on to dear life-What does it mean ???

Holding on for dear life is our reaction to when life is falling apart, and we desperately need something solid to grab while we weather the storm, so we don’t fall apart too.

We all know that life is constantly changing and nothing is permanent. The phrase can be redefined to mean something else too. There are some things that mean a lot to us and are dear. They give us the comfort and confidence we need to weather any storm – friendship, family, faith, hope, trust, values, morals etc. But we should be ready to let go off the stuff that weighs us down like clutter, guilt, fear, insecurity and anger.

Most importantly, WE SHOULD hold on to each other. We have to hold on, lift each other up, comfort one another.

Tri Level Split on a Quiet Cul De Sac

Are split level homes outdated or underrated??

The split-level design is believed to have derived from the ranch, which, in turn, was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s low-profile, horizontal Prairie homes and no-frills Usonian houses. The split levels divided public and private spaces through short half levels.(Per realtors mag)

Split-levels look more substantial yet their quasi-stacked designs are still compact and could be affordably built on smaller lots. The tri-level layout contains a lower-level family room and garage, mid-level entry and public rooms, and upper-level bedrooms and bathrooms.

Many of these homes in Ridgewood are affordable.

Frozen

On a cold morning at the duck pond on E Ridgewood Ave. It was stunning looking at all things frozen in time except for people doing their walks with their pets or by themselves. With the sun shining brightly it cast a blue on the snowed in lake and gave it an ethereal look.

Going through some tough time and choices in life. I was reminded of the song from frozen. I am not someone who breaks down quickly. Once upon a time I was the most sensitive girl you would have ever met. But with passing of years( a nicer way of saying I am aging 🙂 … ) challenges have made me stronger and give me the “Do not care” attitude to life”

Here are a few lines from the frozen song “LET IT GO.. “that came to my mind…

My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back
The past is in the past

Let it go, let it go
And I’ll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway

Pretty Landscape

With the right amount of snowfall the landscape looked so pretty with old man winter making a return. Another major storm is expected this Tuesday with blizzard like conditions which could result in snow dumps of at least 18 to 25 inches  !!!

Just when we thought it was going to be springtime soon, old man winter made a surprise return. With all the advances made in science and technology this is one area which is still cloudy . But the day may not be far off when humans will “play God” with the weather.
